✝ 🕊️The Joy in Music🕊️ ✝️
Part 2: natural and spiritual comfort

Father in Heaven,

I pray in Jesus Christ✝️ name as Your Holy Spirit dwells…

For natural and spiritual
understanding tonight—
To help 👍🏾us🕊️ understand
the effect music has
on 👍🏾our🕊️mind and heart.
So we may start
To hear and understand
the idea of a radio station
Meaning so much more to us
A constant reminder of
How peace can slow anxiety.
How Your✝️ music’s rhythm can calm stress.
Which brings to my remembrance
The Nursery babies.
Remember that God✝️?!
Their cries heard by You✝️
through me. I’d pick them up
And sing softly, then
Hopeful words began
to redirect thinking.
That the seemingly
Hostile and unfamiliar
Was a safe environment
Innocent little cryers
Are given just enough room
To vent to a lullaby

Now God, I think of your radio station
iTunes and those church hymns
that we learned growing up
And how they show up
In their unconventional
Yet, sophisticated ways.
Plays from theater.
🕊️Holidays.
Church services,
and yet between all
scripture is given a chance
to make a sound!
A joyful noise into the Lord.
One where all ye lands
understand the one same thing.
🎶”God is”🎶!
Then a melody reminds
memory to focus,
and reminds emotions
That healing is found in God✝️’s word.
🎶 that God can heal🎶
🎶 He✝️ can deliver🎶
🎶 and mend your brokenness🎶
Now such, focus gives way to joy

So now, Lord
Because You✝️ designed the mind
with spiritual purpose.
It’s my prayer that for every church service
every gospel song,
every tune that we hum
can be heard again for the first time,
and the first time,
and the first time.
Just as we see king David
And the Psalms
May each song become devotional
instead of just souly emotional.

Spiritually, we pray Father—
that you bring meaning
to this natural thing called music
teaching 👍🏾us🕊️ through it
gospel music’s
effect on the heart.

How it softens it.
How it opens it.
How it comforts it.
As its’ constant reminder
to 👍🏾us🕊️ to trust
Our common course towards You✝️,
even through
difficulty.

Help us understand
Through song
How you still work all things together.
For good though
eyes have not seen
nor ears heard
Of the mystery of Your✝️ Word
Despite uncertainty,
The difficult, and hurtful
Unto victory.

We pray to this that You✝️
allow your Holy Spirit
To sing to us
with these rhythms,
these melodies
To ease the heart
amidst the unknown
As answer and remedy
To how you take care of your own
And bring reassurance
To us
Saying surely goodness and mercy
indeed follows us all our days
As we dwell amongst each other
in the house of the Lord
Together.
