Pray for my husband John
Prayer for My Husband to Turn Toward God
Lord Jesus,
I come before You in Your holy name, asking You to move in my husband’s life with power, mercy, and truth. In the midnight hours, meet him. Visit him by Your Holy Spirit. Let Your presence be so strong in the room where he sleeps that he knows You are there.
Your Word says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6). So Father, not by my strength, not by human effort, but by Your Spirit, reach him deeply.
Lord, wrestle with his heart the way You know is right. Trouble every place in him that resists You, and break down every wall that keeps him from surrender. As Your Word says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith” (Revelation 2:29). Open his ears to hear You.
God, I pray that the things he spends so much time on would lose their hold on him. Let the television no longer satisfy him. Let the phone no longer keep his attention. Let the things of this world become empty to him compared to Your presence. Your Word says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world” (1 John 2:15). Turn his appetite away from empty distractions and toward the living God.
Father, make it hard for him to remain comfortable outside of Your will. Let there be a holy dissatisfaction in him until he turns his attention to You and to Your Word. Your Word says, “Thou hast made us for thyself, and our heart is restless until it finds rest in thee.” And Your Scripture says, “My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God” (Psalm 42:2). Put that thirst in him, Lord.
Empty him of pride, stubbornness, distraction, and every false comfort. Remove what should not be there, and fill him with what is holy, pure, and true. Your Word says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10). Do that work in him, Lord.
Draw him with cords of love and conviction. Your Word says, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him” (John 6:44). Father, draw him. Pull him closer. Do not let him keep running from You.
Let Your Word become alive to him. Give him no peace in wasted time, but deep peace in Your presence. As Jeremiah 20:9 says, “His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones.” Let Your Word burn in him until he cannot ignore You any longer.
Lord, take charge and take control from this day forward. Rule in that house. Rule in that room. Rule in his mind and heart. And let everything in him bow before Jesus Christ. For it is written, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow” (Philippians 2:10).
I ask You to save, awaken, convict, cleanse, and restore him. Let this be the beginning of a true turning. Let nothing satisfy him until he looks to You.
In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
