Instructions from The ✝️ Doctor
(Matthew 13:1–23 | Mark 4:1–20 | Luke 8:4–15 ✝️)
Father in Heaven,
I pray in Jesus Christ✝️ name,
that You would allow this prayer to function like a medical chart
opened only between the ✝️Doctor and the 🕊️patient —
and the two of us reading it together
in the privacy of Your Spirit.
Because this prayer…
is not for everyone —
it’s for 👍🏾us🕊️,
written in our language,
formed in our metaphors,
coded in our care.
Lord✝️, You said there was a sower —
a physician of the soul —
who scattered seed.
Same seed. Same message.
Different terrain.
Different outcomes.
So Lord✝️, in the midst of this life
where information is everywhere and maturity is rare —
let 👍🏾our🕊️ hearts be good ground.
May nothing spoken as Your✝️ Word
Fall by the wayside
Father gather out the stones as you
Prepare a way for your 🕊️people
Casting up a highway free of obstacles that will detour or prevent the finish 👍🏾we🕊️ desire
Go through the gates of our heart to lead us so we may see ✝️ what Your✝️ Will is.
Because like a doctor briefing a patient before treatment,
You don’t hide the process —
You explain the plan.
You tell us what the Doctor✝️ will do,
what 👍🏾we🕊️ should expect,
and You give us room for questions answered.
That’s representative of Your✝️ Love.
That’s leadership.
That’s Your bedside manner, Jesus✝️.
So here I stand, Lord,
after 20 years in 🪖 tactical and clinical medicine doing patient 🕊️ care,
having learned that treatment without understanding
is trauma waiting to happen.
And faith without comprehension
is fertile soil for fear.
We were trained to care for the 🕊️patient,
to know “best practice”,
to identify hazards,
and to respond in alignment with 👍🏾our🕊️ standard✝️ — not panic.
And now I see it clearly:
the Parable of the Sower is clinical instruction,
On how to receive and add-minister patient 🕊️ care
Individual towards our patients of this world⛪️
and as a public health protocol
against a spiritual pandemic —
sin, fear, confusion, and emotional injury.
Lord Jesus ✝️ you’re not just Savior —
You are the Great Physician,
teaching 👍🏾your🕊️ disciples and interns like us
how to operate on the soul
without losing the heart.
He didn’t gossip names —
He told parables instead.
Because the story wasn’t the point.
The outcome was.
Confidentiality unto
wisdom ✝️ revealed.
So with that understanding —
in this prayer —
as I speak personally to You, Lord✝️🕊️
May we hear and understand
These words are your discharge instructions.
We are still in treatment
but we are not in crisis.
Because we know You✝️ are unfailing —
you are healing.
We are not lost —
we are learning.
Your medicinal ✝️ seeds have already been planted.
Your✝️ instructions ensure and endure
So that the soil,
Our🫀heart is being protected.
The roots are forming quietly where nobody sees.
And what the enemy stole in other seasons
will not be stolen here.
So I “seriously” pray
For 👍🏾our🕊️ encouragement
as we stand.
Remain teachable.
Remain watchful.
Remain willing to be good ground,
even when it feels like nothing is happening yet.
Keep 👍🏾us🕊️ in remembrance
That Your✝️ Word is a seed requiring care
Likewise they are pills that remedy
Our sin-sick soul from the womb until we get old
It’s for all of us!
So, Divine ✝️ Physician
Do Your✝️ best work beneath the surface.
And when He is finished —
the harvest will not be wasted.
So Lord✝️ —
keep us holy and acceptable unto You✝️.
Let our emotions be disciplined.
Be 👍🏾our🕊️ psychiatrist
So our thoughts be sober.
Be 👍🏾our🕊️ Cardiologist
So our hearts remain soft, functional, and the blood of your Son✝️ can flow freely
Be 👍🏾Our🕊️ physical therapist
So the instructions from Your✝️ Word
keeps us strong.
And may 👍🏾our🕊️ course
Of treatment✝️ ahead be clear:
not rushed, not pressured,
but steadily healed
with skillful hands
and watchful grace.
May 👍🏾us🕊️ as your patients
Hear and understand
As your seeds take on their lasting
Beneficial effect.
In Jesus Christ✝️ name,
👍🏾We🕊️ pray and give thanks.
Amen.
