Prayer Request

Seeking guidance:

I don’t know to do about beggars walking up to my car window. I feel guilty when they wave or stare. I’m torn of what I should do. I don’t carry cash and I’m not willing to Venmo, cashApp or PayPal. I’m also not comfortable giving out gift cards though I’ve only done that once. It was really uncomfortable for both of us. They wanted cash and that was clear. I looked up the laws in my county, and while panhandling is total legal, police suggest not to engage because it is not safe to encourage anyone to walk up and down busy intersections and weave among traffic. Police suggest redirecting them to resources like SERVE instead. It’s so hard because the Bible says to help others in need. Treat others as you’d want to be treated, and giving spare change is not a viable solution. Lying about not having the money apps is not right either and I certainly understand gift cards to grocery stores do not pay rent.

I don’t know what to do.
