This morning, as I began reading the Bible, I took a moment to pray. I expressed to Jesus and God that I’ve been struggling with my faith lately, unsure if my doubts stemmed from my own insecurities. I asked for a sign to guide me and reassure me that I’m on the right path in following Him.
I started reading about Jesus' crucifixion. As I reflected on how Pilate found no guilt in Jesus but still allowed the crucifixion to proceed for the sake of glorification and salvation, the lights suddenly went out throughout my house and the neighborhood. Was it merely a coincidence? I couldn't tell.
Undeterred, I continued my Bible study and completed the chapter (John: 20). Once I finished, I sat down to work on my homework, and just then, the electricity returned. Earlier in my prayer, I had asked Jesus to show me a sign of His presence and to affirm that I am right to follow Him. In that moment, I felt that He had answered me.
I would like to ask for a prayer to keep the Holy Spirit alive and thriving inside of me despite disparities to come.
