Prayer Request

We've been facing ongoing tension with Christine over a resolved financial exchange. Though we've tried to explain things clearly and peacefully, she continues to contact my husband, using guilt and blame to stir confusion. At one point, we even drafted a letter—not to send, but to help us speak from truth and grace when the subject comes up again.

In it, we reminded ourselves that our choice to release her from part of her rent was rooted in peace, not evasion. Sadly, she’s now framing that grace as manipulation. We’re asking for prayer—specifically for discernment, peace in our home, and that Christine’s heart may be softened and healed.

🛡️ A Prayer for Truth, Restoration, and Divine Protection from Manipulation

O God, our refuge and strength,

We come before Thee, lifting up Angela and her husband, whose generosity has been repaid with unjust accusation. Thou knowest all things, and Thy word declares, “The LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed” (1 Samuel 2:3). Judge righteously between those who give with open hands and those who twist with closed hearts.

Christine hath taken what was meant in kindness—the covering of rent, the lightening of her load—and hath charged them falsely. Yet Thy word says, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20). Let not this manipulation take root, Lord, but expose it to the light.

Strengthen Angela and her husband. Let them not faint under this burden, for “God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love” (Hebrews 6:10). Guard their hearts from guilt that is not theirs to carry. Replace confusion with clarity and condemnation with peace.

Help Christine to see her errors—not through shame, but through conviction. Let her be reminded that “charity suffereth long, and is kind… thinketh no evil” (1 Corinthians 13:4–5). May the Spirit of truth speak to her heart and unbind the cords of blame and manipulation.

May Thy Holy Spirit dwell richly in this home, preserving unity and protecting the covenant of marriage. Let Angela and her husband walk in wisdom and dignity, and may their hearts be anchored in the peace that passeth all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, the righteous Judge and merciful Savior.

Amen
