🕊️ A Prayer for the One Who Seeks to Divide What God Has Joined

O Lord Most High,

Thou who said, “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matthew 19:6), we come before Thee with hearts steadfast in covenant and eyes lifted in mercy. We pray not only for our marriage, but for the soul who seeks to divide it.

Let Thy Word be a lamp unto their feet and a fire upon their conscience. “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm” (Psalm 105:15). May they be warned by Thy truth and drawn by Thy grace.

We ask Thee, O Lord, to convict the heart that sows discord, for “He that soweth discord among brethren” is an abomination unto Thee (Proverbs 6:19). Let them not be hardened, but humbled. Let them not be lost, but found.

We invoke the intercession of:

– Saint Monica, who prayed unceasingly for the conversion of her son—may her tears soften the heart of the one who resists Thy will.
– Saint Joseph, protector of families—shield our union from spiritual attack and worldly temptation.
– Saint Michael the Archangel, defender against evil—stand guard over our covenant and cast down every force that seeks to destroy it.

Let the one who interferes be awakened by Thy Spirit. “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee” (Acts 8:22). May they seek Thee, O Lord, and find mercy before judgment.

We pray for their soul—not in bitterness, but in hope. “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you” (Matthew 5:44). May they be transformed by Thy love and redirected by Thy truth.

And as for us, O God, strengthen our marriage. Let it be a fortress of faith, a sanctuary of peace, and a testimony of Thy glory. “A threefold cord is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12). Bind us ever closer in Thee.

We take this prayer to Thee, through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Defender, in the unity of the Holy Ghost.

Amen.
