Heavenly Father,
We lift up this dear soul to You, who comes in humility and repentance, seeking Your mercy and help. Lord Jesus, our Redeemer and Friend, You said, “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37). Receive this cry of desperation and surround it with Your unwavering grace.
Cleanse and restore, O Lord, for You promised in Your Word: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Break the chains of addiction and replace every craving with Your peace that passeth all understanding.
Touch his wife with healing and grant her the peace You spoke of when You said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you” (John 14:27). Knit their hearts together in love, and let their home be a haven of restoration.
Lord, in these uncertain days, sustain his employment. You are Jehovah Jireh—the Lord who provides—and You have said, “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread” (Psalm 37:25). Provide abundantly, we pray.
Finally, wrap this family in Your strength. As it is written: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee…yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).
In the mighty and compassionate name of Jesus Christ we pray—Amen.
