A Prayer Path Reflection: What It Means If a Data Center Is Built

Acknowledge
Lord, You see the whole picture when we only see pieces. You see the hopes people have for safety, stability, and opportunity. You also see the strain that heavy industry can place on families, wells, aquifers, land, and the cost of simply living in a place we love. You see the tension in households trying to understand what this would mean for their future.

Align
Help us align with truth, not fear. Help us weigh the impacts honestly: that a data center may not bring crime, but it can bring higher utility costs, higher property assessments, and pressure on water and land. Help us honor both perspectives — the desire for safety and the need for stewardship — without dismissing either. Align our hearts with wisdom that protects people, not just projects.

Ask
Give us clarity to understand the real consequences:
– If crime stays low, let us recognize that as good — but not the whole story.
– If cost of living rises, give us the courage to name it and prepare for it.
– If water, land, and infrastructure are strained, give us the voice to advocate for protections.
– If our leaders make decisions, let them be transparent, accountable, and guided by the wellbeing of the people they serve.
Give peace in our homes as we talk through these things, and unity as we seek what is best for our families and our county.

Anchor
“Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established.” — Proverbs 24:3
Your Word reminds us that strong communities are built on understanding — not assumptions, not secrecy, not pressure, but truth.

Amen
Amen. Let our conversations be calm. Let our decisions be wise. Let our stewardship be faithful. And let our county be protected — in safety, in cost of living, and in the land beneath our feet.
