Lord, I am anxious, and I know that I need not be anxious for nothing. I pray that our school comes out of CSI, which means Comprehensive Support and Improvement school this year of 2026. I pray that we have a trifecta in grades 3, 4 & 5 showing that our students excelled beyond the county and state scores for MCAP. I pray that 70% and more landed On-Grade-Level and Above-Grade Level. I pray that our students in grades 4 and 5 reach their stretch goal as well as the On-Grade Level score of 581 and above with taking their last iReady test.
I pray that while our students are testing, they believe in their abilities and excel on this last iReady test for this year. I pray that our grade 3, 4, and 5 students excel by landing in the Top 10 schools for their last Reading and Math Benchmarks, iReady, and MCAP Reading & Math tests for this year. As we have been testing throughout the year, I pray that our students have the stamina to work with pride to complete each test with accuracy.
I pray that what each student learned in their previous grades comes to the forefront of their minds, easily, in order for them to demonstrate mastery of the skills given on each test. I pray that they take their time but finish the test in time. I pray that they read for understanding. I pray that our students refer back to the text and respond to each multiple choice accurately.
I pray that when they have to respond to any given prompt or question, they answer it with facts from the text, however, paraphrasing each piece of evidence used.
I pray that if they are asked to respond to a narrative, they use all of the elements of a narrative to write a coherent response. Develop a story that is real or make-believe, be it a story, a sequel, or a new ending. I pray they give the introduction: setting, character, and plot. The body includes dialogue, figurative language, and transitional words and phrases. I pray that they give the solution to the story.
If they have to respond to an opinion prompt, I pray that they use the elements of opinion writing effectively, including their introduction with a stated opinion and identify 3 reasons with evidence, then their conclusion.
I pray that if they are asked to respond to an informative prompt or question, our students give an introduction, including the name of the text or video. Then give 3 paraphrased pieces of evidence with reasoning from the text or video. I pray they include the conclusion for their informative writing. In all writing, I pray that each student uses proper capitalization and punctuation marks with full command.
I pray that we accomplish what is needed without being overwhelmed in Quarter 4.
I pray to the Lord that I, along with my colleagues, close out the year well. I thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayers! Thank you, WGTS prayer warriors, for reading and praying for me, our students, and my colleagues.
