🌬️ Prayer for Righteous Stewardship and Environmental Mercy
Entwined with King James Scripture
O Lord our God,
Thou who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain and layest the beams of thy chambers in the waters (Psalm 104:2–3),
We come before Thee with trembling and truth,
Asking for discernment in the works of our hands and the power we harness from Thy creation.
Thou hast given man dominion over the works of Thy hands (Psalm 8:6),
Yet we confess, O Lord, that dominion without wisdom hath led to harm.
The noise of our building hath troubled the deep,
The metals we cast into the sea have not been weighed with mercy,
And the creatures beneath—whales, dolphins, and birds—have suffered from our haste.
We thank Thee for the winds that blow,
For the clean power that doth not burn nor pollute,
For the jobs that feed families and the hope of a greener future.
But we cry out for balance, O Lord.
Let not profit blind our eyes to the suffering of Thy creation.
Let not haste trample the quiet wisdom of stewardship.
Thou art the God of order, not confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33).
Let every project be weighed in Thy scales of justice.
Let the builders pause and consider the impact,
Let the leaders seek counsel and not boast in haste.
We pray for those who labor in this field—
Give them strength, courage, and wisdom.
Let them not be pawns in a game of power,
But partners in Thy vision for healing and renewal.
We ask Thee to protect our waters, our wildlife, and our people.
Let the technologies be refined,
Let the harmful metals be restrained,
Let the noise be softened,
And let the planning be guided by Thy hand.
If a pause is needed, let it be for peace.
If a change is needed, let it be for righteousness.
If a sacrifice is needed, let it be for the greater good,
Not for vanity, nor for gain.
We stand in the gap for those affected—
For the families who depend on these jobs,
For the ecosystems that cannot speak,
For the future generations who shall inherit what we build.
Let Thy will be done, O Lord,
On earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).
And let us not grow weary in well doing:
For in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9).
Amen
