O Lord of Hosts,
Thou who makest a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19),
We bring before Thee Erin’s cry for breakthrough.
She is pressed on many sides, yet not forsaken—
For Thy Word declareth, “The breaker is come up before them… and the LORD on the head of them” (Micah 2:13).
Let Thy glory be revealed in her trials,
As it is written, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:1).
Strengthen her with might by Thy Spirit in the inner man (Ephesians 3:16),
And let her know that “no weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).
We call upon the intercession of the saints—
Even as James, the servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Wrote to the scattered tribes, “Count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations” (James 1:2).
And Paul, who suffered much, yet declared, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).
Lord Jesus Christ,
Thou who art touched with the feeling of our infirmities,
Look upon Erin with mercy.
Let her see Thy glory in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13),
And grant her peace that passeth all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
In Thy holy name we pray,
Amen.
