A Prayer for Release and Restoration
God,
There are words I’ve heard that still echo—
Blame that never belonged to me,
Wounds that came from those I should’ve been safe with.
You saw it all.
You know the truth that I was just a child,
Trying to survive, to be loved, to make sense of it all.
Lift the shame others tried to lay on me.
Remove the lies that I carried for too long.
In their place, plant truth:
That I am not responsible for what others chose to carry.
Heal the places where blame took root,
Restore my voice, my worth, my joy.
Let forgiveness—if and when I’m ready—
Be a gift to myself, not a burden.
And if the pain rises again,
Meet me there with Your peace.
Because even in my breaking,
You are making something beautiful in me.
Amen.
