Please pray for our son. We are at wits end. He is not thriving. He seems to have no interest or motivation or joy in anything. He wakes up tired. He is secluding himself. He is not helpful when we ask what he is struggling with. He probably does not know. His academic performance in college has declined; he has no interest or energy to complete projects. He is anxious because of all this. We are frustrated and exasperated because this has gradually gone on for about three years. We thought things would improve but they are getting worse. We are about to make appointments with a psychiatrist. Pray that the diagnosis will be right and treatment plan appropriate and effective for our son. He is a committed Christian and desires to do everything in service and glory of God. Because his situation has brought on much strife in the family and we feel helpless about how to support him, I am beginning to get very resentful and embarrassed of him. I am just exhausted to watch what appears like he is squandering opportunities and talent, yet look so miserable because he feels stuck and hopeless. We are praying for divine touch and favor. We feel very helpless.
